Sacraments

Baptism

As part of the Mass service four times a year:

Baptism of our Lord feast:
(Sunday after January 6)
EasterMonday
St John Baptist feast (Jun 21) (at the SaintWell)
August 31

Before the baptism, the parents of the children are expected to catechesis. Baptism of adults is made possible by the institution of the catecumenate. Please contact the parish who will inform you about the details.

Eucharist

3rd grade children are expected to prepare for the first communion, who will receive the sacrament in October of the following school year. The exact date will be communicated in time to the children. Participation in catechesis classes and at Sunday Masses is part of the preparation. Children who have already received the first communion are also welcome for the Sunday Masses!

Confirmation

The preparation for Confirmation could be started out anytime according to the church advertisement by any interested in it. Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered in festivities by the ArchAbbot (The date of this depends on the period of the preparation, this will be communicated to those who are preparing).

Young people above the age of 16 are expected to apply and this preparatory class is likely to start depending on the specific number of applications. Older people are also welcome to apply for Confirmation class, as well as discussing the process of it with them individually.

Reconciliation

The order of confession: every Sunday mass from 9:00 a.m. in the confessional room. We celebrate a Reconciliation liturgy during Lent on fridays.

Anointing of the Sick

Community service is carried out during Lent, individual service at any time according to patient’s needs. The curate is keen to visit and confess patients. Be so kind to indicate where our sick brothers and sisters are waiting for a spiritual visit before Christmas or Easter.

Marriage Sacrament

We ask engaged couples to indicate their intention three months before the planned date of their marriage to allow sufficient time for the marriage course (about 10 times). The fee for the wedding is HUF 20,000.

All deceased will be commemorated in solemn form at Sunday Mass following the news of their death, and relatives will be invited to this occasion. If requested, the curate will also celebrate Mass on the day of the funeral. The funeral fee is HUF 15,000.

Parish contribution

Parish income is essentially based on the money from the offertory, from Parish contributions, so called “church donation”, a small-area support.

Amount of church contribution:
– 4500 FT/year Earner for adults
– 2500 HUF/year for pensioners and non-earners

We can use the contribution to cover the regular costs of the Parish:
– supplying the church with liturgical objects (candles, oil, wine, consecrated bread, etc.),
– lighting, heating and water supply of the church and parish.
